Friends and acquaintances call me the Digital Real Estate Queen.
I’ve been in the digital property space since 2003. It started with one blog, and grew into what’s now a collection of blogs and online stores.
The web is growing in such a way that just about everyone is on it. And if you’re not already online, you’re looking for a way to get online.
If you own a brick and mortar business, you HAVE to be online! But there are also those who don’t have the time or the inclination to build a blog or website, don’t yet have a business, and simply want to buy something that’s already built.
That’s where I come in.
I’ve always loved the internet. I remember discovering that I could talk to friends in other countries using a desktop computer back in 1995. That was the beginning.
I will always be in awe of the power of a few keystrokes. I truly enjoy starting something from nothing, and watching it grow, and attract more and more customers.
I bought my first domain about 20 years ago, and right now, I probably own about 70 domains and 8 or 9 blogs and ecommerce sites.
The reason that I started The Digital Property Shop is because I know so many women who are out of work because of the pandemic! It’s crazy! Many of those women are single moms who have no idea where they’re going to turn to make money to feed their kids.
Many can’t go back to work, because their kids are out of school because of the pandemic, and they don’t have childcare.
Drop shipping businesses are the best way for at-home-moms to make money without having to leave the house OR creating an online business that’s just more stress and work.
I started drop shipping businesses because they’re a great way to make passive income. As a single mom of three, I spent all kinds of time searching for ways to make money that was largely passive. I’ve had the ‘traditional’ e-commerce website before. Every time I received a new order, I’d cringe because creating, packaging and shipping the products were so much work! Doing all of that while trying to manage three kids on my own was just too stressful.
It took a few years for drop shipping to be “a thing”. When I first started, I did it the same way that everyone else was doing it (and many still do); stocking up my store(s) with products from China. Those products would take an eternity to deliver to the customer after it had been ordered. Needless to say, the order would be cancelled long before the customer ever received it.
And then I discovered that if I sourced products from inside the US and Canada, the shipping time would be cut to a little more than a week. But those companies used to be really hard to come by.
Then I started creating products specifically for my own drop shipping store. I started out with t-shirts, and the store did so well that I created the same type of store for another single mom (different products though).
It gave me an idea.
And that’s how The Digital Property Shop was born.
